Two years ago, I took this shot from my cellphone camera, on a makeshift graveyard for journalists down south.
On my part, I aimto reach a different group of people, mostly teenagers and twentysomethings who may have been stereotyped for their fond of big-eyed characters and hyper-muscled heroes. With the help of Singapore-based artist Tin Manasan and former Philippine Collegian artist Jether Amar, we created the comic series, "Segovia Solutions. "

The Maguindanao Massacre. The M/V Princess of the Stars Tragedy. The havoc of the Tropical Storm Ondoy. If super heroes walked the earth, would the Philippines have a different history?
This is the question the comic series Segovia Solutions aims to address as back-to-back tragedies in the past decade force the re-emergence of super heroes in an alternate world, at a time when the country's sunshine industry lies heavily on information.
Segovia Solutions tells the story of a call center that feeds technical support to superhumans handpicked to deal with recurring ills of the country. The first issue focuses on the killings of journalists and is partly based on the writer's experience in covering the Maguindanao Massacre.
